In this video I’ll show you the before & after of decluttering my kitchen using the KonMari method. Who loves the new show Tiding up on Netflix featuring Marie Kondo? I like it, but I love her book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” even better.
I read it last summer and have been itching to declutter and organize my whole house since! I’m decluttering one room at a time starting with my kitchen! I hope this inspires and motivates you to go through your kitchen and only keep what sparks joy!
Cheers to keeping what we love and living in my own form of minimalism! Thanks for watching!

Who likes paperwork… no one!! Even those of us who enjoy organizing. However, I found a system that is not expensive and actually works! Check out Freedom Filers, it’s brilliant and really helped me for what I struggled with most. I didn’t know what to keep, get rid of, or how to categorize certain papers. Freedom Filers answers those questions for you and it’s self cleaning system (you will understand what I mean by that in the video ;). It did take an initial investment of time to set it up, because I had to go through all my files, clean them out, and figure out what tabs I needed. But you know what they say, every minute you spend organizing is an hour earned, and with my files I found that to be true! I can breath, life is a little easier and lighter, and I am finally in control of my paperwork!

Camera equipment can be so hard to organize. One reason for me being camera gear isn’t very pretty, but it’s a necessity for what I do. I wanted something in my office that was nice to look at and functional; some container store products really helped me achieve that! I went with light elfa shelving and a light wall to compliment it. I put all of my most used equipment in acrylic containers, which brought a look of sophistication while making finding what I need easy. I could hide the rest in baskets! I hope you enjoy the video, and find a little inspiration for yourself!

Since you are reading my blog I can share with you some extras that you won’t hear in the video, and that is how I arrived at the design, because it was interesting… I decided to push all inspiration out of my head and even stopped going on Pinterest! I thought about the feel I was going for and I knew I didn’t want something “Pinterest Perfect”. I saw darker walls, antique touches, and lots of storage. Something warm, cozy, but not cluttered. A vision entered my mind and the decor of my office was born!
So settle in because I will be giving you some of my best design tips and ideas on this tour for a beautiful home office! Let me know your thoughts or any home office tips below, I would love to hear from you!
